Every member already follows the law. The gap is that each follows it differently, and a smaller firm often has nothing written down at all — which makes an inspection stressful and an accident more likely.
The code sets out a single set of practices: how product is stored on premises, how it moves in a vehicle, how dilution is recorded, what protective equipment is mandatory for which class of chemical, and how empty containers are disposed of.
It is written to sit alongside statutory requirements, never to replace them. Members will be able to print it, sign it and put it on the wall.
